Did any of you do the 1-minute speech of your life in your bathroom mirror?
I’d love to hear about it if you did!
Normally I DON’T recommend practicing in a mirror. There’s no mirror when you’re actually giving the talk to an audience, so when you all of a sudden get out there and are faced with a bunch of actual people, you might think “WHERE’S MY MIRROR?!” and lose all footing.
But for this exercise I make an exception.
As long as you remember to turn around once you’ve been your own audience for this one minute speech. Which is what we’re going to do this week.
Now it’s time to turn away from the mirror and take it out on the road.
Deliver your one-minute-speech-of-your-life to your pet, or while looking out the kitchen window while washing the dishes, or to a tree in your backyard. Or go climb a mountain and shout it from a mountaintop. Or lie on the grass and deliver it to the sky.
Wherever you do it, let the words be spoken out loud.
One minute.
No longer.
I can’t wait to hear how it goes!
